"Incident at Loch Ness" is a documentary -- perhaps -- that examines the process Werner Herzog and crew undergo to check into the reality of the Loch Ness monster. They encounter surprising discoveries that appear to provide clear evidence of the existence of Nessie. Someone presented as a professor explains what is needed to prove something (he is shown to have a "Ph.D." as part of his title, which means we must immediately believe him; genocide scholars, after all, also possess Ph.D.s), especially something that has correctly been met with great skepticism, such as a dinosaur-like creature living today in a Scottish lake.The parallel with the Armenian genocide is striking, much as this other phenomenon is rarely met by skepticism from those who have been bombarded by Armenian and genocide propaganda, and are prejudiced and ignorant to begin with.
Is the evidence that is offered any better than the evidence for the Loch Ness monster? If it is not, shouldn't more Armenians and other genocide proponents make sure to similarly present the case for Nessie as a valid one? They may not want to risk that people who don't buy into the reality of a Loch Ness monster could one day wake up from their genocide stupor, and actually start applying the same rigid criteria that would be required before they would even consider believing in a dinosaur still existing in a corner of the earth. . .
